Sunrise at the Prince of Wales Bridge

Friday morning was supposed to be clear skies and glorious sunshine. Instead I headed to Blackrock, Portskewitt in my car along the M4 under dark gloomy skies. There was however a break in the clouds. It lay over the Severn Estuary. A blue sky teased me with promise.

I arrived at Blackrock Picnic Site about thirty minutes before dawn and quickly grabbed my kit. My main piece of equipment for the coming photographic session was going to be my DJI Air 2 S - codename "Airwolf".

I stood on the old causeway next to the Engineer and stared across the waters of the Severn Estuary. Annoyingly here was a band of cloud on the eastern horizon. The sunrise would not be perfect so I would have to roll with it. At least the wind was very low and I would be able to fly.

I estimated the sun would rise up behind the clouds about five minutes after dawn. By then I had flown a recce flight and scouted out the place I wanted to take my shot.

The picture is not perfect, I would prefer no cloud as its blown out the sun but I think it looks pretty good.
